Portrait Diptychs
I wanted to go with a more real life series. One that showed a controversy with friends and also a dilema on the struggle for height. On the top series it shows the change in height where at first one friend was the shorter one and then then after time passes she got taller and now is the one making fun of the shorter friend.
In my bottom series I show two best friends getting along but also fighting. Disregard one of them laughing during the fight but this shows that ever friendship will have there good times and bad times but at the end a friendship will last forever.

Surrealism Photo Montage

| Alien Invasion |
The wonder if there is another type of being or organism out in our solar system always brings curiosity to peoples mind. In this Surrealistic Photo Montage I express my opionion or thought of whether there is another organism in our solar system. As i show an invasian by aliens into our Earth. A very debated theme but in my opinion if there was an invasion it might look a little like this regarding there destination.

Surrealistic Theme
My idea is going to be a alien takeover on earth. Where a ufo is droping man aliens on earth and they are siezing an attack on humans. I will be using a dessert like scene and a dark, gloomy atmosphere. I'm not sure if this is a surrealistic idea but i thought it would be cool to make a science fiction picture by going with this alien invasion.

Traditional vs. Digital
Jerry Uelsmann
Untitled [rowboat, ocean and clouds
In cupped hands], 1996 (digital)
Uelsmann was born in Detroit, Michigan. When he was in high school, his interest in photography sparked. He originally believed that using a camera could allow him to exist outside of himself, to live in a world captured through the lens. Despite poor grades, he managed to land a few jobs, primarily shooting weddings. Eventually Uelsmann went on to earn a BA from the Rochester Institute of Technology and M.S. and M.F.A. degrees from Indiana University. He began teaching photography at the University of Florida in 1960. In 1967, Uelsmann had a solo exhibit at The Museum of Modern Art which opened doors for his photography career.
Description: Good texture, soft edges, good lighting, and overall good picture.
Analysis: The balance is really nice. There really isn’t much color but the grayscale works well in this photo. The focal point is very nice and it flows throughout the photo.
Interpretation: I believe this artist is trying to show maybe where he would like to be. Like a place where he would go and relax and get away from everyday stress.
Judgment: I believe this photo is really good. Like it doesn’t have any flaws the picture was shot well and placed in the hands like it’s supposed to be there. You can’t even tell if he used photo shop. It’s a great photo.
George Grie
Gone with the Wind 1994
One of the first traditional surrealist artists, Grie is known for numerous 3D, 2D, and matte painting images. Born in the USSR during the Soviet regime he did not adopt the conventional and politically correct socialist realism art style, but chose instead to follow the more controversial path of modern surrealism. He also was a great traditional artist throughout his career.
Description: This picture is very nice. I like how the artist planned this out. It has a calm feeling to it and really just a simple but interesting photo.
Analysis: I like the balance that he used. Not everything is just lined up in the middle. He kind of used leading line to show how deep the picture is which was really good.
Interpretation: I think this photo is showing that maybe you should just live life and don’t over think things. Like going with the wind could mean just letting yourself live life and have no worries.
Judgment: I really like this photo. I like how the artist uses different elements of art in his photo. From leading line to the horizon line, also the rule of thirds is used which makes this piece very successful.
The difference between these photos other than the fact that one was painted or drawn and the other was a actual photo is that I think digital shows more detail. There are only numerous aspects revolving around the use of digital photography versus traditional photography. After all, digital photography is just another tool of modernization showing the advancement of photography in an ever-changing world. Let's just hope that digital and traditional photographers can make the best out of both worlds to produce the best work that everyone would love to have.
